Medicine Cabinet, 2020
Chip-carved walnut, salvaged glass, brass.
If form follows function, the original “function” of this piece was to house an unsightly retainer case and our deodorants. I got gleefully carried away with form, hand carving the door, using the cnc for the rounded ends, cutting adjustable glass shelves from a broken picture frame, and adding an adjustable drawer with brass “wings” (for hairpins, obviously). Started at school and finished in quarantine.
